Description: 

Tungsten-tin ore from interior of a high temperature vein, South Crofty mine, Cornwall. Wolframite, arsenopyrite, cassiterite, quartz, chlorite.

Rotation 1 - three small cassiterite crystals associated with chlorite all in contact with opaque arsenopyrite (transmitted light). Section is slightly thick.

Rotation 2 - blades of wolframite showing simple twinning in reflected light.

Note a few scan lines are visible, most noticibly in the REF PPL mosaic. Note also that the thin section is thicker than 30 microns.
